The state-level Utkal Gaurav Madhubabu Jayanti celebrations and Salepur Mahotsav 2025 have already begun. It was formally inaugurated by former MLA and founder president of Madhubabu Jayanti Committee Prakash Chandra Behera. After garlanding the statue of Madhubabu at Satyabhamapur in Salepur, the birthplace of Odisha’s Barputra Madhubabu, the Madhuba Jyoti procession began. Prakash Behera brought the Madhuba Jyoti in a huge motorcycle rally and installed it at the event venue at Salepur Bazaar Square. On this occasion, Shri Prakash Behera administered an oath to everyone to be inspired by the ideals of Madhubabu, and reiterated the demand to confer the Bharat Ratna on Madhubabu and declare his birthplace as a national monument. On the first evening of the festival, the founding member of the committee, Prakash Chandra Behera, inaugurated the Salepur festival by lighting the lamp. Shri Behera also inaugurated the Mission Shakti stall opened by the self-help groups of various panchayats. A museum has been opened at Madhusudan Park with the items used by Madhu Babu and his photographs. Utkal Gaurav has himself signed the signature campaign started for conferring Bharat Ratna on Madhu Babu and declaring his birthplace as a national monument.
